In the same vein, water is almost another character in the new movie. Many exploration games such as Abzu and Subnautica have shown that exploring oceans and lakes can be really exciting, so perhaps the game can use these new locations to create a new gameplay experie

Similarly to the movies, Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora will focus on the conflict between the alien Na'vi tribe, and the RDA. The human-led RDA looks to plunder Pandora for resources, setting up many bases across the planet that cause widespread pollution, as well as harming and poaching some of the planet's creatures, and a huge aim of the game is to destroy these bases and allow the ever-changing open-world of Pandora to organically " heal " once this pollution is lif

The Avatar Frontiers Of Pandora films have very distinct main characters. Although the traditions and customs of Pandora play a major role, these story elements always revolve around Jake Sully, Neytiri and their respective families and friends. The Way of Water introduces new characters such as Jake and Neytiri's children , along with other important humans and Na'vi. Frontiers of Pandora could bring back these characters, allowing players to interact with them. Even if the game explores new characters and locations, there is always the possibility that its story will overlap with the movies, allowing players to connect with some of the characters they already k

The prime example is the Hallelujah Mountains, featured in the Avatar film . The Hallelujah Mountains are essentially just floating mountains, but that's oversimplifying it. The mountains are suspended by a powerful magnetic current and slowly rotate, occasionally crashing into each other and creating large deposits of Unobtanium. The mountains are sometimes shrouded in mist because of the abundant waterfalls cascading off of the cli

At least one member of the RDA has been identified—a man named John Mercer. According to the developers, he was the one responsible for kidnapping Na'vi children (including the player character) to turn them into soldiers RDA soldiers. It is probably fair to assume that he is a major antagon

Thanks to the new installment, the planet Pandora has been expanded even further with the inclusion of new tribes, creatures and lore, something that could be reflected in the video game. While James Cameron is confident in Ubisoft's vision for Avatar , the upcoming open-world game has even more to work with since the release of The Way of Wat

And I saw in another interview, you described the world as beautiful and dangerous, but not aggressive. Can you explain a little bit more about what you mean by that and why that's such a core part of this world's des

So from the beginning we set out, "Okay, what's a great licensed game or what's a great game period?" Well, a great game is interactivity, agency; I am a player, I have a voice. I co-author my story together with the video game developers, they have their story, but then it's interactive and I play and I create situations. So that's all what we need to capture. Systems, central activity, freedom, go wherever you want - it's not a linear game, it's an open world game. So we did all t

Flying feels incredible, though, and goes a long way in conveying the sheer vastness of this world. Your Ikran isn’t limited to the clouds, but can soar far above them until it flirts with the precipice of space, all before flying back down in a process that not only takes minutes, but teases parts of the map I wasn’t allowed to explore yet, and couldn’t wait to uncover. It’s hard to ignore what Frontiers of Pandora is going for in its design philosophy, and how much of it fails to offer up anything new. But if it manages to flesh out the world of Avatar and its many ideas just enough, those shortcomings could be forgiven. There is a unique appeal to being dropped in a licensed game that goes beyond being a tie-in, and wants to push the universe further with its own spin on things, although it’s hard to tell how compelling its ideas can really be when the gameplay it relies on is made up of things we’ve seen so many times before, and also done better elsewhere.

Pandora is a natural environment with unique vegetation and fauna. Despite the great variety of animals both terrestrial and aerial that could be seen in the first Avatar movie, such as the horse-like pa'li or the flying ikran, it is necessary to add those presented in The Way of Water . Among them are the ocean-dwelling ilu and tsurak mounts, as well as Avatar 's gigantic tulkun . SInce it's an open world game, Ubisoft can offer a wide range of rideable creatures all over the planet to facilitate travel by land, sea, and air. There's even room to introduce more animals into the game; after all, many of the dangers and mysteries lurking on the planet have yet to be depic

Avatar: The Way of Water , the long-awaited sequel by the director James Cameron, has been a huge success. So far, it's the third highest-grossing film in history, surpassed only by Avengers: Endgame and Avatar itself. The tremendous reception of the film may serve the next video game in the franchise , Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora , still in development, as a source of momentum following the renewed interest in the s
