After two films and several years, the world of Pandora will finally be open to explore in the upcoming video game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora . The game will feature the yet-to-be-seen Western Frontier of James Cameron's wondrous alien planet. Playing as an orphaned Na'vi, players will venture out into the wild and interact with the many Na'vi clans in hopes of helping them with their fight against the

James Cameron's ambitious sci-fi epic avatar frontiers Of pandora vs star wars outlaws introduced fans to the alien world of Pandora. This was a planet that certainly felt alien, with its jungles full of odd creatures that at most only vaguely resemble those of Earth. Among the many peculiar creatures to be prominently featured was a flying animal referred to as a mountain banshee by humans and the Ikran by the Na'vi. These large creatures have a prominent role in Na'vi culture, with one spending a portion of the film as a companion of protagonist Jake Sully. Their role in the movie and subsequent material has allowed the Ikran to stand out among Pandora's wildl

Weapons are quite varied as well. Thanks to her unique background, the protagonist can handle different types of firearms, or she can go for a quieter approach with a bow and arrow, or combine them with explosive arrows. A big part of the appeal of Far Cry is the variety of weapons and ways to accomplish tasks. It looks like Frontiers of Pandora is going to deli

Interestingly enough, the player will begin not as a native Na'vi per se, but as an orphan raised by the RDA and trained as a soldier willing to do their bidding. Fifteen years later, the player character will wake up from suspended animation to find a long-abandoned RDA facility. Venturing out into the wilderness, it's up to the player to seek out the various Na'vi tribes to fight the RDA across the western fronti

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora certainly seems like an interesting addition to the Avatar story, and should tide fans of the sci-fi series over until its next cinematic release in 2024. As is to be expected considering James Cameron's involvement, the game's story seems to stay true to the main themes of the movies while offering a more unique perspective of the conflict as a " child of two worlds ," and the world looks as visually stunning as ever, making exploring **Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora's ** massive open-world map a truly enticing prosp

Admittedly, a lot of the Ikran's anatomy is pretty confusing even to the greatest biologists. Suffice it to say that they are large flying creatures that look vaguely like pterodactyls with a few strange traits- the most obvious probably being the ridge protruding from the lower jaw. The full body is almost snake-like, with four limbs that function as both legs and wings. A person could easily be forgiven for assuming Ikran to be reptilian, as they certainly appear that way on the outside. In actuality, it is capable of regulating its own body temperature and shares a lot of traits closer to birds. Other notable traits include four eyes- two pairs that serve differering functions- and an organic air intake sys

The Na'vi, a race of blue-skinned gigantic humanoids indigenous to Pandora, have always been crucial to the lore surrounding Avatar . Their conflict with the RDA is what drives the entire plot, but it is still a story about humans. The original film's protagonist started as a human, even if he ended up preferring his Na'vi body (the titular "avatar"), and he had several human allies that made up the core c

Of course, this detail has led to a lot of ridicule, but it is something the game seems to be taking full advantage of. Part of the player character's journey will involve learning to ride different types of animals, a bit like the override mechanic in the Horizon games. This means being able to ride some of the iconic creatures from the mo

A big theme in the movie was the interconnectedness of Pandora's ecosystem. The Na'vi held a deep connection to it both figuratively and literally. The braids on the back of their heads could literally be connected to Pandora's wildlife, like a USB ca

Ubisoft clearly channeled some of their Far Cry experience into Frontiers of Pandora . Aside from the first-person perspective and open world, the player has access to a variety of options when it comes to combat. Players can choose to be stealthy or go into full Rambo m

That said, if Frontiers of Pandora is anything to go by, the RDA did not take defeat well. Fifteen years later, it appears they're back in full force, probably wanting payback after the events of the movie. From the looks of things, they've even expanded their operations on Pandora. The player will naturally learn how to fight the RDA and their machines, being able to lay waste on everything from mech suits to helicopt

While venturing across Pandora, players will be sure to see many of the different sights of Pandora's diverse environment. The Aranahe clan live among the floating rocks known as the Rookery, giving players a rare chance to see these unique sights up close. Players will be able to explore the plains with the Zeswa clan, while the Kame'tire clan will give players the chance to explore the more dense Clouded For
