Playstation fans always have something to look forward to in the form of the awesome exclusives that Sony always has in development, and few games come close to God of War: Ragnarok in terms of anticipation. The fact that a release date has not been announced yet has convinced some that the game might be delayed, but the developers have assured fans recently that the release is still on tr
The invading military group known as the Resources Development Administration, or RDA, will be the key antagonists for players to face off against. They have state-of-the-art equipment, terrifying mechs, and lethal weaponry which will be a significant threat to the Na'vi's more traditional g
The Tree of Souls, introduced in the first Avatar film, is established as a sacred element of Na'vi culture. It allows the Na'vi to connect, communicate and interact directly with Eywa, the sentient life force of the planet Pandora . The Way of Water , meanwhile, shows the Spirit Tree, the underwater version from the aquatic Metkayina tribe. It functions similarly to the Forest Na'vi's Tree of Souls but allows certain Na'vi to manipulate the aquatic life around it, connecting them to the very ecosystem they inhabit. Frontiers of Pandora could further explore this concept by including more Spirit Trees that connect to different environments, allowing for new connections and abilities linked to the pla
You can perform tricks and spins with the ikran mounts in the air, and they'll even have customizations. When riding your mount, there's an interesting shift in perspective. You tame the direhorse or ikran in the first person, but the perspective automatically switches to the third person as you r
Thanks to the new installment, the planet Pandora has been expanded even further with the inclusion of new tribes, creatures and lore, something that could be reflected in the video game. While James Cameron is confident in Ubisoft's vision for Avatar , the upcoming open-world game has even more to work with since the release of The Way of Wat
In addition to showing the human settlement on Pandora and its rapid expansion during the film, it is also explained why Earth's government agencies are so interested in the planet. The Earth will soon be uninhabitable and humanity will need a new place to settle. Although the game is named after the planet Pandora, it would be interesting to take a look at the state of Earth in the Avatar franchise during the time period in which it is set. The game could offer some sympathy for humans looking for a new home, or highlight new ways that humanity might devastate its home pla
This Avatar game will showcase the new area of the Western Frontier of Pandora, as the second movie revealed the Metkayina Clan's Eastern Sea home of the Reefs. It doesn't look like you'll be able to visit the stunning ocean of the Mekayina, but the Western Frontier has many beautiful locations of its own in st
The Ubisoft Forward event showed off six minutes of gameplay and cutscenes from Frontiers of Pandora with narration from the game's director, and many new details emerged in that short clip alone. There was exciting combat, new area reveals, systems and mechanics, and much more to be discus
Magnus Jansen: It's a great question or a train of thought, because this was something that was very important to us from the start. Because starting out, it's no secret if you know anything about video games history that when that movie-licensed video games or any licensed video game can be - it can turn out bad if you're just looking for a quick cash grab or just a quick thing. And I'm super happy to say now, especially back then when we started, that in the first meetings with Lightstorm, James Cameron's production company, it was super clear that they did not want to do that, a bad game or a quick, "Let's just you redo the movie and so Hollywood hopefully can get some mon
When first looking at the map of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora , it clearly looks as busy as any Ubisoft game . Expanding the map all the way out also showed us how big the area was, at least twice the size of the playable section we were given (which we could not explore all of during our time with the game), and everywhere the save file hadn't been before us was covered in clouds. There are color-marked areas, marked for resource gathering; names across wider regions, indicating things like swamps; and a few select stand out areas marked like the Home Tree. Some areas like the Ikran Rookery weren't specifically marked until we made it to them for the quest, so it's clearly a map that develops over t
