The best Rogue companions in BG3 are Shadowheart as the healer and support foundation of the party, Gale as your primary ranged spellcaster, and Karlach as your partner in melee combat (to keep the heat off of you).

The max level in Baldur's Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, each level you gain will grant something new for your Druid build. On character creation you gain the basics for the Druid class, then steadily gain Feat Choices, new spells and abilities, subclass features, and increase your Proficiency Bonus.

At level two, the School of Transmutation offers "Transmutation Savant" and "Experimental Alchemy." The former halves the cost oath of pestilence Paladin scribing Transmutation spells , while the latter allows the creation of twice as many alchemical solutions when performing alchemy (if the Wizard succeeds a DC15 Medicine Check each time.) Players who enjoy brewing their own potions should definitely consider this School.

Additionally, learn one Cantrip from a select list of level 1 Cantrips.

To create the best BG3 Sorcerer build, we recommend putting the majority of points into your Dexterity and Charisma, followed by Constitution.

Their other leveling choices make them both a controlling force in melee combat and a powerful support from a distance, though most of one's time should be spent on maximizing damage output while in Wild Shape.

This section covers the best equipment for Circle of the Moon Druids in BG3 across all three Acts. Some pieces from early Acts may still be powerful in later ones, though, and will remain equipped through several Acts.

Players using the Spellsparkler can enhance their spell damage by picking up The Blast Pendant from a Petrified Drow near the Selunite Outpost. This allows them to convert lightning charges into bonus damage for their next spell. The Necklace of Elemental Augmentation will allow the Wizard to add their intelligence to the damage dealt by any Cantrip that deals Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Thunder damage, making it an excellent addition to an Evocation Wizard's kit. It can be found in the Inquisitor's Chambers at the Githyanki Creche. The Daredevil Gloves sold by the Merchant in the Creche are also helpful, providing a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and converting ranged spell attacks into melee spell attacks when an enemy is standing next to the caster. This helps Wizards to dodge the disadvantage from casting spells while threatened.

When it comes to Multiclassing, the Light Domain Cleric pairs exceptionally well with the Open Hand Monk subclass, gaining Radiant damage on their unarmed strikes and a ton of extra close-quarters combat utility. Stunning Blow and the various Flurry of Blows upgrades allow them to defend themselves at close range and set enemies up for further attacks. Having access to Metamagic can also be useful, especially Twinned Spell and Distant Spell.

However, depending on how you like to play your Druid, the Outlander background might feel more fitting. This background grants proficiency in Athletics and Survival instead of Animal Handling and Survival, and Athletics can be very useful in combat.

This section covers the best equipment for Draconic Sorcerers in BG3 across all three Acts. Some pieces from early Acts may still be powerful in later ones, though, and will remain equipped through several Acts.

At Level 1, the best two Expertise choices are Stealth and Persuasion, as these play well into the Rogue's strengths in sneaky combat and dialogue checks. Later down the line, players can pick up Insight and Sleight of Hand at Level 6, though players who don't do much pickpocketing may find that Deception is a more useful skill to gain Expertise in here.

To help with their spellcasting, players should also grab the Protecty Sparkswall clothes during Act 1 at Grymforge, which provides +1 to Spell Save DC and boosts their defence while they have lightning charges. For similar reasons, players should consider grabbing the Birthright Helmet and Quickspell Gloves during Act 3, which grant +2 to Charisma and the ability to cast spells as a bonus action (once per short rest) respectively.

With just one point in Barbarian, for a Druid 11 Barbarian 1 build, the Druid will be able to use their bonus action for an additional attack while shapeshifted. Unfortunately, the Unarmored Defense passive of the Barbarian class doesn't stack with the Druid's AC while shapeshifted.

They also gain access to the additional Spell options "Burning Hands" and "Command (Halt)" at level 1, which are unavailable to other Warlocks. This allows them to start fires and freeze foes in their tracks. At level three, they gain access to "Scorching Ray" and "Blindness," too, providing them with further offensive and debuffing capabilities. At level five, they gain "Fireball" and "Stinking Cloud" spells, allowing them to create a debilitating cloud of gas and use one of D&D's most famous damaging spells.

Updated April 6, 2025 by Erik Petrovich : Patch 8 for Baldur's Gate 3 is right around the corner, and though lots of the new subclasses seem like a lot of fun to play, the base game still offers some very powerful options for the best Cleric build in BG3. The Life Domain Cleric is still the best Cleric build in BG3 – but that could change with the release of Patch 8. Until then, stick with this Life Domain Cleric guide to learn the best Cleric build tips, what makes the Life Domain such a powerful subclass for the Cleric, and other information that will help you min-max your Cleric character. This Cleric build guide has been updated to add in-game flavor descriptions of the class and subclass, as well as a new small section with the best consumables for the Cleric, including both potions and elixirs, in the Equipment section.
