Baldur s Gate 3: Best Wizard Class Build
Level seven offers "Dominate Beast" and "Evard's Black Tentacles," allowing them to turn animal enemies to their side and brutally restrain their foes with conjured tendrils. At Level nine, they can get "Dominate Person" and "Telekinesis," letting them manipulate humanoids and throw people and objects around freely.
Oath of the Ancients Paladins will break their Oath if they fail to defend the sanctity of life or deliberately disrupt the balance of nature. For an early example of this, players can break the Oath of the Ancients by resurrecting Mayrina's husband using Ethel's Wand, since raising the dead counts as disrupting the balance of nature. Many of the actions the Dark Urge will spur players into taking can also result in breaking the Oath of the Ancients.
At seventh level, Oath of the Crown Paladins receive the ability "Divine Allegiance." This allows them to, as a reaction when an ally within 1.5m/5ft takes damage, heal that ally for 2 x Paladin level hit points in exchange for taking that same amount of radiant damage. This allows them to, essentially, take damage on behalf of other party members, giving them another way of serving as the group's tank. Finally, ninth level Oath of the Crown Paladins gain the spells Spirit Guardians and Crusader's Mantle. Spirit Guardians is probably one of the best offensive spells you could ask for on a Paladin, and Crusader's Mantle will make your allies deal radiant damage with their attacks too.
Players who want to channel the power of the stars above, wielding radiant magic and cosmic omens, should select the Circle of the Stars as their subclass. This subclass initially grants access to Starry Form, a new use of Wild Shape that allows the Druid to embody one of three constellations. Starry Form: Archer allows them to fire Radiant Arrows as a bonus action, Starry Form: Chalice allows them to heal themselves or a target within 9m/30ft for free after casting a spell, and Starry Form: iconic dragon Encounters turns any roll below 10 on a concentration check into a 10 and allows the Druid to use Dazzling Breath as a bonus action to deal radiant damage in a cone.
At Levels 2, 5, 7, 9, and 11, Rogues don't have any leveling choices to make. But because the class can learn four Feats, the choices that you do make while leveling this BG3 Rogue build matter a lot more. The table below displays recommended choices to make at each level-up that will synergize well with the stealthy Thief subclass playstyle.
Finally, level 10 Hexblade Warlocks gain "Armour of Hexes," which lets them spend a reaction when attacked for a 50% chance of entirely negating that attack. This can be a lifesaver against powerful foes, though it's inherently luck-driven.
In the Early Access version of Baldur's Gate 3 , there were only two subclasses (or Schools) of Wizard to choose from: Evocation, and Abjuration. Because Evocation focuses almost exclusively on damage output, it tends to be the best Wizard build to follow . Even though the full version of the game has quadrupled the number of available subclasses for Wizards, Evocation remains on top as the best pure Wizard build in BG3 .
At Level 9, the Oath of the Ancients allows access to "Protection From Energy" and "Plant Growth" as additional prepared spells, letting them grant resistance to an elemental damage type or create difficult terrain for their foes.
At level 9, Oath of Devotion Paladins gain access to the spells "Remove Curse" and "Beacon of Hope", allowing them to purge curses and grant their allies improved healing, advantage on wisdom saves, and advantage on death saves.
This section covers the best equipment for Battle Master Fighters in BG3 across all three Acts. Some pieces from early Acts may still be powerful in later ones, though, and will remain equipped through several Acts.
Generally speaking, though, the Circle of the Moon subclass does not lend itself well to multiclassing. Since most equipment doesn't function while in Wildshape, it's generally a good idea to wear equipment that benefits spellcasting instead. This means that the Druid can take advantage of being a full caster class whenever they aren't using Wildshape. There are also a couple of items that either benefit Wildshape directly or retain their functionality while in Wildshape.
The max level in Baldur's Gate 3 is Level 12, and most of the time, each level you gain will grant something new for your Wizard build. In character creation, you gain the basics for the Wizard class, then steadily gain Feat Choices, new spells and abilities, subclass features, and increase your Proficiency Bonus.
Naturally, the Oath of the Crown Paladin works well with all the usual Paladin equipment, like the Armour of Devotion, Blackguard's Sword, Gloves of Heroism, and Helmet of Smiting. They can also make good use of the Blackguard set, which can be found during Act 3. As always, the Helldusk Armor is excellent heavy armor if you have access to it, and the Flawed Helldusk Armor accessible during Act 2 makes a good substitute until you can get it.
