Wuthering Waves: Yuanwu Build Guide

When looking for a support character, you will want to stick with Verina or Baizhi. Both apply similar buffs to the party and Baizhi is a free character that everyone will receive from playing the game. The only downside with Baizhi is that her buffs will only apply to the next character you swap her in for, while Verina will buff everyone on the team. Both are very viable options and Baizhi is absolutely viable if you don’t have Verina yet.

When looking for a nice team for Jinshi, you’ll want to consider characters that use less field time than most characters. Jinshi will take up most of the time on the field and needs characters who excel at getting their rotation done quickly and efficiently. This is where Yinlin is going to come into play. She builds up energy fast, adds a marker on enemies so they take extra electro damage, and gets concerto energy quickly for a fast switch between characters. Yinlin is possibly the best dps partner you can pair with Jinshi and both synergize greatly with one another.

Verina or Baizhi will be your best options for healing. Since Wuthering Waves launched, they’ve been the two standout healers and are relatively close in how their kits operate. Verina is a 5-star that buffs the entire team, while Baizhi is a 4-star character only capable of buffing the next character swapped in. Neither will hit quite as hard as any dps, but it is still very nice if either one of them is on the team to heal up any damage that comes your way. Both healers have insanely quick rotations and will allow you to bring Jinshi back onto the field as fast as possible for more damage.

The Rocksteady Guardian is a powerful Echo in Wuthering Waves, providing a unique defensive and offensive capability when equipped as your primary Echo. Windchimers are collectibles that look like a bell and can be obtained after landing any resonator attack on it. Windchimers can be exchanged for a multitude of rewards by talking to an NPC called Xian'ge in Hongzhen. You can purchase the Felian Beringal for 120 Hazard Records at the Adversity Exchange Point Shop , and these can be earned by clearing levels in the Tower of Adversity, a challenging dungeon within Wuthering Waves. Each floor cleared in the Tower of Adversity grants you Hazard Records, which can be used to purchase various items, including leveling materials, and the Phantom Felian Beringal Echo, which unlocks after earning a total of 1,200 Hazard Reco

To get the best out of Jinshi’s kit, you’ll want to stick with the Celestial Light Sonata Effect. This ensures that Jinshi deals a ton of Spectro damage while in combat and will buff her Intro Skill as well when she’s brought in after another character. When you’ve equipped 2 echoes with Celestial Light, Jinshi will receive a 10% spectro damage boost. With all 5 echoes of Celestial Light, she will receive a 30% Spectro damage boost upon using her Intro Skill . There are a few other options for her, like combining Celestial Light’s Sonata Effect with the Lingering Tunes or Moonlit Clouds effects. But overall, the full 5 echoes with Celestial Effect will serve Jinshi much better and will increase her overall damage.


Quest is be automatically available from 22 July 2024 onwards, and all players need to do is complete Chapter 1 - Act 7 of the main story quest, Thaw of Eons. After that, players can go to the designated location in Hongzhen to start the quest with a cutscene. For your primary echoes, you’ll want to use Tempest Mephis or Thundering Mephis. These are both transformation echoes that will enable Yuanwu to channel the echo to deal Electro Damage. Tempest Mephis will increase Yuanwu’s Electro Damage by 12% and his Heavy Attack Damage by 12% for 15 seconds once it has used all attacks. Thundering Mephis will throw out multiple attacks and increase Electro Damage by 12% as well and Resonance Liberation Damage will increase by 12% for 15 seconds as well. Both options here are going to be your best bet on a primary echo for Yuanwu, as they are going to amp up his overall Electro Damage while also providing nice damage bonuses to other parts of his kit.
